World Champion from Russia tried in Dubai for damage to police property

The Russian woman, the world champion in synchronized swimming, was in court in Dubai due to the unsuccessful landing of her drone on a police car.

The 23-year-old Russian woman, the world synchronized swimming champion, was prosecuted for criminal misconduct in Dubai for damaging a police car.

It is reported that the girl was in Dubai with a three-day visit. Near Dubai International Financial Center on May 19, she was flying a drone, which, according to her claims, was discharged during the flight. The Russian woman lost control of the drone, and he fell from a great height onto a police car, breaking a side mirror on it.

The police confiscated the drone and took the girl to the nearest police station, where she had to leave her passport as a deposit before being released.

The hearing was scheduled for June 12th. The Russian woman tried to petition to postpone the meeting to an earlier date, but nothing came of it.

Speaking to Gulf News, the girl said: “I can not afford to stay in a hotel where I have been since last month. I have run out of money and my passport is pledged awaiting trial, and I cannot extend my visa, which will expire in the near future. I came here on vacation for three days and now I can’t leave because of the court ... If I stay even longer, I will lose my job. ”

The attache of the Russian consulate Nikolai Lapkovsky accompanied the 23-year-old athlete in the courtroom.

The court will resume its work soon.

The athlete’s name is not disclosed, but it is known that she currently works as a synchronized swimming coach in Moscow.
