Yes, we are often in the Emirates. The first time we arrived back in 1996. They gave their first concert here at the Hyatt Hotel. Then we met with Sirak Muradyan, director of Al Khalidiah Tourism. Since then we have been friends and often visit him, we speak at various "corporate" events. We even had such a tradition - on January 1, when the season of New Year’s performances was ending in Russia, we all gathered and headed back here.
Do you prefer active or passive rest? I heard you were going fishing yesterday ...
Gathered, but not gathered! You need to get up early, but how to get up early if you go to bed late? In general, I love passive relaxation - the beach, the sun, the sea ... With our pace of life, travel and airplanes, no safaris are needed! We have such safaris that after you just want to lie under a palm tree and sleep with all your heart. Therefore, we are used to the Emirates, and they are used to us (laughs). We liked the country immediately, from our first visit ...
What exactly?
Personally, I have always been amazed at the pace of development and scope: such a young country has absorbed all the newest, modern, chic, best. The result was a modern, high-quality East. But at the same time, traditions have been preserved. It's great.
Your main home in Moscow. Never had the desire to move somewhere further?
We have been in Moscow for 15 years, and I think that for people of creative professions, artists, Moscow is the highest point. And if you go somewhere other than Moscow, then only to London, Los Angeles or New York. But it’s much more difficult to get there, although we successfully perform everywhere. But so far, we are not going to change Moscow abroad.
Never visited the thought of having some kind of parallel business, do something else besides music?
Usually there is not enough time: work round the clock. With the exception of the two holidays that we assign in the summer and winter. But recently, a friend and I opened the Italian restaurant Emporio Cafe: a place for famous people who are tired of attention. They wanted to make a place without pathos, but it turned out very glamorous. This is my first time trying a restaurant business and am very pleased with the result of our two-year work to create it. Is a hookah in an Italian restaurant a tribute to the Emirates?
Perhaps, although I myself do not smoke at all: neither hookah, nor cigarettes. Just the eastern theme is now very popular in Moscow.

Your group is twenty years old. Now there are young guys. How do you find common ground with them?
We had a "rejuvenation" of the composition. Not only Katie came, but also a new guitarist and a new drummer. Now the group has a good, strong roster. We worked wonderfully, and when I do not see the guys for a long time, I begin to get bored.
Katie is considered one of the best vocalists on our stage. You are lucky - and the voice, and appearance, and charisma - all with her!
It's true! External data is now even more important than talent. There are not many talents. Everything turned into a matter of technology: they cut, glue, tighten, higher, lower. You can extend everything except the timbre of the voice that is given from above. Katie has a strong, beautiful voice. And this is what touches people.

What is needed to maintain popularity?
Good repertoire. There are songs that make their way to themselves. For example, the song "Fly away" was immediately accepted with a bang. She didn’t even have to be pushed. But there are songs that are feared, afraid to take on the air. We recently recorded a song with the group "Inveterate scammers", shot a clip. Already sent to radio stations, everyone listens and says: “Cool! But we’re afraid to take” ...
You did not try to get to Eurovision?
This year, who just did not offer us to go to Eurovision! And different producers, and different countries. But we decided not to participate in this competition, because I generally believe that all competitions of this magnitude are events of a political nature and are only partially valid. Moreover, Eurovision is no longer a performing competition, but a competition of theater groups: the show is at the forefront.
Are you going to Dubai in full force?
Of course, all five people will be here. We will work, as expected, on all "one hundred."
