Sheikh Ahmed noted: "Deliveries of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner will begin in 2022 and will last in the 2030s. Some of the new aircraft will replace those that are currently in operation, which will allow us to continue to support a young and efficient fleet. The rest will ensure further development "We are confident that the 787 will be a great addition to our Boeing 777 fleet and Airbus A380 and will allow us to become even more flexible in serving a number of destinations as our global route network expands."

Kevin McAllister added: “We are very pleased that Emirates chose the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner to strengthen and develop its fleet. This aircraft will set new standards in the civil aviation economy when it is commissioned next year. The 787 Dreamliner delivery agreement will strengthen the long-term partnerships between companies and will retain many jobs in the United States. "

According to the signed agreement, the airline is entitled to replace the Boeing 787-10 with the Boeing 787-9. This gives her great flexibility in completing the fleet and developing a global network.

Emirates is the largest Boeing 777 operator in the world with 165 aircraft in operation.
