UAE satellite launch delayed due to bad weather

The launch of the reconnaissance satellite of the United Arab Emirates, Falcon Eye 1, was again postponed due to bad weather.

Arianespace has again postponed the launch of Falcon Eye 1, a United Arab Emirates reconnaissance satellite, due to adverse weather conditions at the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana. This is stated in the company’s message on Sunday.

"High-altitude winds over the Guiana Space Center remain strong, Arianespace decided to postpone the launch, which was scheduled for Sunday, July 7, 2019," the report said. It emphasizes that a new date will be announced soon, taking into account the analysis of weather conditions.

Initially, the launch of the satellite was scheduled for July 5, 2019, but due to the strong wind it was postponed to July 7.

Falcon Eye 1 will be the first of two military intelligence vehicles launched under a contract with the UAE. It is known that they should be located in low Earth orbit. Airbus Defense and Space and Thales Alenia Space were responsible for their development.
