DUBAI ROAD AND TRANSPORT COMMITTEE (RTA) INCREASED TARIFF FOR LANDING IN TAXI FROM 3 TO 5 DIRHAMS, KILOMETER FEE remains unchanged - 1.71 UAE DIRCHAM FOR KILOMETER.The RTA also announced an increase in taxi call fees from 6 dirhams to 8 at regular times and from 10 to 12 dirhams during peak hours (from Saturday to Wednesday from 7:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00 and from 16:00 to 24:00 on Thursday and Friday).
RTA continues to improve Dubai taxi meters, which will soon be paid using the Nol Card (a payment card used in the Dubai metro, tram and buses). Nol Card payment terminals are already in taxis that serve the airport. It is expected that by mid-2015 all taxis will be equipped with such terminals.
