Shoe Paradise Roger Vivier

An exhibition of the most legendary models of shoes by Roger Vivier was held in Paris. Safari style, the Renaissance, the art of the East and English artists of the XX century were the main topics of the Roger Vivier exhibition. Known more as an inventor than as a shoe master, Vivier began his career in the 30s and was completely obsessed with design: “I redrawed sketches 500 times to achieve absolute precision in combining the original idea and the structure of the foot.”
The designer’s main skate was sculpted heels, from the styletto to the comma heel he created in 1963. Vivier's skill was so great that in the 50s he created couture shoes for Christian Dior himself. Among his fans were Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, and modern stars include Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts.
