Creativity plus sun and comfort

Vyacheslav Tyurin - composer and producer. Creator and producer of the Reflex group. “Go crazy,” “Falling Stars,” “Dancing,” “Love,” and many more real hits are works by this author. He also worked and works with such popular Russian pop singers as Irina Saltykova, Alena Sviridova, the Lyceum group, Shura, Kristina Orbakaite and many others.

Recently, Vyacheslav Tyurin conducts his creative activities in Dubai. We managed to meet and chat with a celebrity.

Vyacheslav, what brought you to the Emirates?

Firstly, I always wanted to change the situation. Including creative. Lately I haven’t been in the sun at all. And he began to realize that I was running out of creative power. The absolute record of this winter completely unsettled me, so many days Moscow was left without the sun .... It is very difficult to bear, especially for a person who is trying to live with emotions received from the outside world. After all, in order to create a song, I need a special energy boost. All my works, as a rule, are simply imbued with heat and light. I can brag of a large number of hits written by me, and if the fate of my song somehow doesn’t work out very well, I analyze and understand that at the time of its creation I was "out of place". Therefore, about two years ago, I drew attention to the Emirates, and as soon as I received the first offer, I decided without hesitation to move here. I liked the geographical proximity of this country to Russia. I come from Novosibirsk, but I’ve been living in Moscow for 15 years, and for me it’s absolutely the same distance - in five hours of summer from the capital to be in Siberia or here.

Secondly, I met many friends here. Although for me it was not a fundamental factor - to communicate with friends in this part of the world. For example, I was surprised to note for myself that my friends living here, after some time, become different. that is, they, of course, remain Russian, but their manner of behavior is completely changing. They stop "biting", becoming much more calm people.

So I thought, why not try to create here? Many, of course, took this as emigration. This is not true. First of all, because I have a love for Russia that will never end. I can approve or condemn the policy of our state, but this does not affect my love for the country. Plus, these are people who believe in me and work with me. It’s hard for me to even list everyone with whom I have already recorded songs and with whom I’m only planning. This is my job.

But for full-fledged work, you need your own studio, right?

When I took my first steps here, I realized that it would be interesting for many artists to come to record in a studio located on the seashore. And combine the useful with the pleasant. For several days of work, here you can have time to breathe in the sea air, swim, sunbathe .... I did not think about creating a studio yet, for me it is rather a creative process. I was just curious to try creating new material here. All my last songs for Kristina Orbakaite, Irina Saltykova were recorded in Dubai. Reflex will also record their new album here. Irina Nelson, despite the fact that she left the group, will also work with me in the Emirates. so, it turns out to be a rather voluminous creative package that you need to implement.

Was Dubai really chosen just because of the warm sea climate?

There is another important point - the popularity that Dubai has won in the world. the creative potential of a composer, producer, person making music depends on expanding borders. I am aware that if I continue to work only with my market, my arrangers and sound engineers, I simply will not grow further. Of course, I can take some next height by sending my creative potential "to increase" somewhere like New York, but what's the point? I’m interested in working with large sound engineers, arrangers who can do something better than me, and I, in turn, will give them something. It will be a symbiosis. I want to work in my own studio, because in this case I am an egoist. I need to replenish the piggy bank of knowledge. And when, for example, I invite such a person to my studio ... in Moscow, he will think about it. And it will be a very long time to think. We have bad publicity, nothing can be done about it. If I invite any master of music to my studio in Dubai, I give 99% of the 100 that he will come. Naturally, not only the material aspect will play an important role in making a decision. A person will understand that he is traveling to a safe country at sea. This is important for creativity. I have a good portfolio and enough quality work to work with any arranger in the world.

Do you already have international works in your portfolio?

Yes of course. I have gained significant international experience, if we take into account two of our highest singles recorded for Europe. We worked with Universal, and Reflex became famous in Europe. Suffice it to say that we were given two covers in two issues of the number one tabloid in Europe - the German Bild.

Together we released two singles, one of which, I Can't Live Without You, reached 11th place on the charts on Viva, and releasing the second, “vinyl single”, we suspended work with this company. We were produced by Wolfgang Boss, the famous producer of "frog" Crazy Frog and Despina Wendy. He insisted that I leave the Russian market for the permanent stay of Reflex in Germany. I could not do this for obvious reasons. We took a break. I realized that you always need to do only your own. And now I will produce turnkey products, and I’m ready to offer them to the major.

Are you interested in the Arabian music market, or do you plan to work only with Western or European partners?

Why not? Compared to Russia, the local music market is quite civilized. There is no such scope of piracy as ours. Of course, it has a place to be, but not on such a scale. Such a disastrous amount of pirated discs as in Russia, probably, is not anywhere else in the world! Unfortunately, this is a fact. My losses from piracy are simply not calculable. In recent years, the state has not protected me from pirates at all. A few million dollars floated out of my pocket every year. And that was "normal." After such an attitude, I had no doubt - something needs to be changed. It is impossible for someone to make a fortune on a group created by you. In my opinion, this is how to produce, for example, kefir, making money on its presentations, and not on directly selling product bottles. And the endless exploitation of the artist’s labor does not lead to anything good. This is exactly what happens with artists in Russia. An album is released, which is immediately stolen and sold in millions of copies. And the artists, in order to earn money for the next studio recording, are forced to "plow" on tour, naturally, advertising the album released by the pirates. This is a total problem of the market of pop music, for the solution of which the state has not yet undertaken anything serious. My goal today is the realization of creative material in civilized conditions.

Where do you plan to start?

The first is the creation of soundtracks. And, of course, songs. Soon we will record here our first soundtrack to the Russian film. Together with me in Dubai at the studio will be my leading employees, my regular partners in creating songs at the Reflexmusic studio. My team.

The idea of ​​nucleating the material is very fragile. Sometimes it’s worth only voicing how someone can interrupt this sprout and it will not grow. I would like to emphasize that for me, leaving for Dubai is not a creative emigration, but a creative rethinking and the ability to work in civilized conditions. Here I can protect my copyright.

There are professional recording studios in many countries. Why will Russian artists go to you?

Such a studio and such equipment that I put here in Russia does not exist yet. There is a studio similar in concept to Mosfilm, but it is not tied to a specific creative person. Nevertheless, I am the guarantor of what will be created here. The person who comes to me in this studio will know for sure that in addition to the hardware, there is also a good producer head. Not a producer on paper, but a composer making music in the genre that the client understands and orders.

A separate independent studio is just a tool for making money. And in the studio with a cool producer, everyone goes, first of all, to the person. I wanted to create a place in Dubai so that people associated with art would understand - for them there is everything. Because I am ready to "babysit" every day and night so that his idea will be released. In addition, artists and musicians can simply relax here, enjoying the comfort and tranquility that is so lacking in Russia now.
