Visa-free regime between Russia and the United Arab Emirates

Citizens of the United Arab Emirates received the right to visa-free entry into the territory of the Russian Federation for up to 90 days.

Starting February 17, 2019, citizens of the United Arab Emirates do not need a visa to enter Russia, as well as for citizens of the Russian Federation visiting in the UAE.

UAE Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmad Sari al-Mazrui said that this decision of the Russian government underlines the UAE’s high position and reputation in the international arena. "Mutual rejection of the visa regime is a significant achievement, which reflects the strong historical ties of the two countries," he added.

In accordance with the Agreement, citizens of the Russian Federation and citizens of the United Arab Emirates who hold all types of valid passports, do not intend to work, study or reside in the territory of another state, are exempted from visa requirements and have the right to enter, stay or follow in transit through the territory of another state without visas for a period of up to 90 days for each period of 180 days.

On February 21, 2019, the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Dubai will hold a special press conference on the entry into force of the visa-free regime agreement, during which journalists will be able to receive answers to questions regarding the procedures and details arising from the agreement.
